We were discussing about how thankful we are to have started this Cabeswater’s Reading Challenge, because though we live in different continents now (and both very busy with our respective universities) your ever beloved writers are always finding an excuse to talk about books with each other; most importantly, with all of you!
CRC’s April Wrap-Up
Can you believe half the year is almost gone already?
April fools! Not. It’s May you all. Have you been sticking to your New Year’s resolutions? Me neither. Thankfully, we’ve been sticking to our April CRC and here are some of the thoughts that we have about the books we read this past month.
Review : A Darker Shade of Magic
As Travars
Title: A Darker Shade of Magic
Author: V. E. Schwab
Synopsis: Kell is one of the last travelers–magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel universes connected by one magical city.
There’s Grey London, dirty and boring, without any magic, and with one mad King–George III. Red London, where life and magic are revered–and where Kell was raised alongside Rhy Maresh, the roguish heir to a flourishing empire. White London–a place where people fight to control magic and the magic fights back, draining the city to its very bones. And once upon a time, there was Black London. But no one speaks of that now.
Officially, Kell is the Red traveler, ambassador of the Maresh empire, carrying the monthly correspondences between the royals of each London. Unofficially, Kell is a smuggler, servicing people willing to pay for even the smallest glimpses of a world they’ll never see. It’s a defiant hobby with dangerous consequences, which Kell is now seeing firsthand.
Fleeing into Grey London, Kell runs into Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations. She robs him, saves him from a deadly enemy, and finally forces Kell to spirit her to another world for a proper adventure.
Now perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save all of the worlds, they’ll first need to stay alive.

Must-Sees This Valentine’s Day
What you are, or should be watching.
Are those chocolates I smell? Hey, why look for a special someone when you’ve already got yourself some special sweets. That’s definitely love in the air.
Yet, February the 14th is not only about the high-calorie munches (surprisingly enough). This day can be your reason to stay home, cuddle up, and enjoy a roller coaster of emotions with these beloved movies/shows we’ve hand-picked for you this Valentine’s Day:
Review: Wildefire
How much violence is too much violence?
Title: Wildefire
Author: Karsten Knight
Synopsis: Blackwood Academy was supposed to be a fresh start for Ashline Wilde. A secluded boarding school deep in the heart of California’s redwood forests, three thousand miles from her old life—it sounded like the new beginning she needed after an act of unspeakable violence left a girl in her hometown dead. But Blackwood is far from the peaceful haven Ashline was searching for. Because terrifying, supernatural beasts roam the forests around campus. Because the murderer from Ashline’s hometown—her own sister—has followed her across the country. Because a group of reincarnated gods and goddesses has been mysteriously summoned to Blackwood…and Ashline’s one of them.

Review: Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List (2015)
The first movie I watched on Netflix
Title: Naomi & Ely’s No Kiss List
Director: Kristin Hanggi
Stars: Victoria Justice, Pierson Fode, Matthew Daddario
Plot summary: Naomi and Ely have loved each other their whole lives, even though Ely isn’t exactly into girls. The institution of a “No Kiss List” has prevented the two from rifts in the past, but bonds are tested when they both fall for the same guy.
